Terms of Use for IOTA EVM Multisig Manager
These terms of use (the "Terms") apply to your use of the "IOTA EVM Multisig Manager" (the "EVM Multisig" or “Service”) provided by the IOTA Ecosystem DLT Foundation, a distributed ledger technology foundation based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, United Arab Emirates, with registration number 15533 and with its registered address at Office No. 1301 & 1302, Floor 13, Tamouh Tower, Tamouh, Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE (referred to as "IOTA" or "we/us").
By using the Service, you (referred to as "User" or "you") are entering into a legally binding agreement (the “Agreement”) with IOTA, which is governed by these Terms. You represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, meet all eligibility requirements outlined in these Terms, and are not subject to any applicable sanctions or restrictions.
BY USING THE SERVICE OR BY CLICKING THE BUTTON TO ACCEPT THESE TERMS, YOU DECLARE THAT YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS SET OUT HEREIN.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT IOTA ECOSYSTEM DLT FOUNDATION IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE PREVIOUS OPERATION OF THE SAFE{WALLET} BY SERVROX SOLUTIONS OR FOR ANY EARLIER VERSIONS OF SAFE{WALLET}.
1. General
1.1. The Service is a tooling layer that helps users create and manage a multisig wallet, create and share transaction proposals, collect approvals/signatures, and submit/execute transactions on the IOTA EVM Network.
1.2. To create and execute multisig transactions, you must first create a multisig. A multisig requires at least 2 members.
1.3. We do not take custody of your digital assets, private keys, seed phrases, or signing authority. Transactions are authorised by you through your wallet software.
1.4. As the User, you are solely responsible for the safekeeping of your private keys, passwords, back-up phrases and any other information used to access your crypto-assets. You are responsible for taking appropriate action to back up all necessary information that you need to access your crypto-assets and to keep such information safe. IOTA does not have access to your private keys, passwords or any other information used to access your crypto-assets.
1.5. Although the Service has been subjected to testing and has been further improved using feedback from respected developers, IOTA cannot guarantee that the software is entirely free of errors. You acknowledge that you are using the Service at your sole risk.
1.6. IOTA is not responsible for the successful completion of any transactions on the IOTA EVM Network, and IOTA does not accept any liability for such transactions, including any transactions executed through the use of the Service. You are solely responsible for your use of the Service and any transactions you initiate on the IOTA EVM network.
1.7. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of these Terms at any time. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes. If you do not agree to these changes, you can terminate the Agreement at any time by ceasing to use the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes have taken effect will constitute an acceptance of the new Terms.
2. Data Protection
We do not request or store your private keys, seed phrases, or other credentials that control your digital assets. Private keys entered in the interface are processed locally in the user’s browser and are never transmitted to, stored or processed by IOTA. However, when you access or use the Service, we (and our service providers) may process limited technical and usage data, which may include identifiers such as IP address, device/browser information, timestamps, and diagnostic information, for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, reliability monitoring, and improving the Service, without associating it with individual users.
If you previously used Safe{Wallet} provided by Servrox Solutions, you may choose to transfer your interface account data to your new IOTA EVM Multisig {Wallet} or start fresh without transferring any personal data.
3. Eligibility
3.1. To use the Service, you must be at least 18 years old or have the permission and oversight of your parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3.2. By granting your minor permission to access and use the Service, you agree to these Terms of Use on behalf of your minor and accept full responsibility for supervising your minor’s use of the Service. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, do not allow your minor to use the Service.
4. Wallet Connection
4.1. To use the Service, you need to connect a compatible wallet, such as IOTA Wallet or another IOTA EVM-compatible wallet, or introduce your private key, to the EVM Multisig wallet web interface. If you connect your wallet, your wallet’s terms apply to the wallet software and transactions you authorise (sign).
4.2. If you import a wallet by entering a private key, you are solely responsible for safeguarding your private key. We do not request, custody, or store your private key. You acknowledge that your device, browser, extensions, malware, phishing, or other third parties may compromise your credentials, and we are not responsible for any resulting loss. You acknowledge that we will never ask you to share your private key for any support, and you must not send it to us or any third party.
4.3. You are responsible for ensuring any addresses, public keys, thresholds, weights, and transaction parameters you input are accurate.
4.4. Connecting a wallet to the EVM Multisig web interface allows the Service to recognise and use the wallet’s public keys for multisig-related actions. The Service may also support importing existing multisig wallets on the IOTA EVM network.
5. Responsibilities
5.1. You are solely responsible for:
- maintaining the confidentiality of signing devices and credentials,
- verifying multisig membership details (addresses/keys/weights),
- validating the transaction content in a secondary trusted interface (e.g., your wallet) before signing,
- safekeeping of your private keys, passwords, back-up phrases and any other information used to access your crypto-assets, and
- maintaining appropriate backups and recovery procedures.
5.2 You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction, including any reporting, tax, or regulatory obligations.
5.3. You confirm that you have sufficient financial and technical knowledge to use this Service and to use any necessary Third-Party Services and that you understand the inherent risks associated with blockchain-based systems, including potential security breaches, hacks, bugs, programming errors, and the immutability of code, which may result in financial losses. You agree and accept that we are not accountable for these risks, do not control your transactions, do not act on your behalf in any way and cannot assist you if the Service or any Third-Party Services fail to operate as intended.
5.4. Any use of the Service that would violate these Terms, applicable laws, including any financial regulations, sanctions or other applicable restrictions, is expressly prohibited. Any attempt to hack, disrupt or seek unauthorised access to the Service, including the introduction of viruses, malware, or any malicious processes designed to intercept data, disable the System or compromise the security of the System is prohibited.
6. Sanctions
6.1. You must not use the Service to:
- violate sanctions, AML laws, or other applicable regulations,
- facilitate fraud, theft, or unauthorised access,
- interfere with or disrupt the IOTA EVM network, nodes, APIs, or other users.
6.2. You represent that you are not (i) located in, ordinarily resident in, or organised under the laws of any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions or other jurisdiction where your use of the Service would be illegal or otherwise violate any applicable laws, and (ii) listed on any applicable restricted-person list.
7. Fees
7.1. Access to and use of the Multisig is provided free of charge, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. Fees do not include network fees (“gas” or validator fees), which are set by the network.
7.2. You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes, duties, or governmental charges that may apply to your use of the Service or any transaction you initiate.
8. Third-party services and content
8.1. The Service may integrate with third-party wallets, RPC providers, indexers, or explorers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their performance, policies, outages, or security.
8.2. External links are provided for convenience; we do not endorse or assume responsibility for third-party content.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service (in whole or in part) at any time if we reasonably believe: (i) your use poses a security risk, (ii) you have violated these Terms, (iii) your use may violate applicable laws or sanctions, or (iv) continued operation may create risk to the IOTA EVM network, the Service, or other users. We may also suspend the Service to address incidents, perform maintenance, or comply with legal obligations.
10. Intellectual property
10.1. The Service uses open-source software published by Safe{Wallet}, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0. Your use of the open-source software is subject to the applicable open-source license terms and nothing in this Agreement shall be interpreted to limit your rights under the GPL v3.0 with respect to the underlying source code. Any modifications to the software by IOTA are licensed under the GPL v3.0 and available in our public repository.
10.2. Apart from the open-source components licensed under the applicable open source license, all rights, title and interest in and to the branding and design of the Service, including the IOTA name, trademarks, logos, designs, texts and other IOTA assets (collectively the "IOTA Assets") remain with IOTA or its licensors and original rights holders.
10.3. Subject to the terms of this Agreement, you are granted a revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferrable, and limited license to use the Service and the IOTA Assets for personal use, free of charge. This includes updates and upgrades to the free version provided by IOTA. However, this does not include the right to use IOTA’s trademarks, designs and other IOTA Assets for your own version of the Service.
12. Warranty and Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, IOTA makes no representations or warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, regarding the Service or your use of it, including any third-party services made available through the Service. In particular, IOTA does not warrant that the Service or any such third-party services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from malfunctions, harmful components, bugs, security flaws or other defects. All use of the App is therefore at the sole risk of the User.
Any information displayed in the Multisig manager interface must be treated as informational only. You are solely responsible for independently verifying all transaction details, in a trusted secondary interface (such as your wallet), before approving or signing (including recipient address, amounts, network).
13. Limitation of liability
In no event shall IOTA be liable for any claim, damages or any other form of liability arising from or in connection with your use or inability to use the Service, or any Third-Party Services or Services linked to this Service, or any content provided on the Service or those other websites or Third-Party Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IOTA shall not be liable for any loss arising from (i) User error, including incorrect configuration, proposal creation, approvals, or transaction parameters, (ii) loss, compromise, or mishandling of private keys or signing devices, or (iii) the unavailability, malfunction, interruption, delay, or inability to use any wallet, RPC provider, validator/network, or other third-party service used in connection with the Service. This includes any loss resulting from delayed, failed, or unintended execution or settlement of transactions.
Liability claims are excluded if the circumstances justifying a claim are based on abnormal and unforeseeable circumstances which are beyond the control of the party invoking those circumstances and whose consequences could not have been avoided despite the exercise of due diligence. IOTA shall specifically bear no liability for damage arising from force majeure, riot, war and natural events, or from any other events for which it cannot be held responsible (e.g. strike, lockout, traffic disruptions, orders proclaimed by a supreme authority).
IOTA does not control your use of the Service or any transactions on the IOTA network, and does not accept any liability for transactions. We are therefore expressly not responsible for any claims, damages or any other type of liability resulting from transactions initiated by the User, or caused by user-error, software or system malfunctions, errors, interruptions, delays or any inability to use the Service, including any losses caused thereof to the User or any third party.
IOTA shall not be liable for any loss or theft of the User’s digital assets including, but not limited to the loss of the User’s private keys, passwords or other information used to access the User’s assets, nor for configuration, installation or transaction errors made by the User, or any late execution or late settlement of any transaction on the network.
The liability restrictions and liability exclusions contained in this Agreement also apply to liability for official bodies and/or managerial staff and non-managerial staff, as well as for other agents of IOTA or its affiliates. They also apply to the personal liability of the above-mentioned persons.
To the fullest extent permissible at law, indirect, special, pure economic or consequential losses are expressly excluded under the Agreement.
14. Entire Agreement and Severability
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and IOTA with respect to your use of the Service.
If any provision or part-provision of this Agreement is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of this Agreement.
15. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Abu Dhabi Global Market, UAE. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or the use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in individual proceedings. The user waives the right to participate in class actions or representative proceedings.
